Lee & Bales: PVUSD Superintendents share message with PV voters

By Jim Lee and Troy Bales

As former superintendents, we appreciate that Paradise Valley Unified School District voters not only support PVUSD by approving bonds and overrides but also through their choices for Governing Board members. By and large, the community has elected individuals who have spent years volunteering in our district, learning about the opportunities and issues PVUSD faces, helping create solutions focused on students in a collaborative, nonpartisan manner. This year, you have a clear choice to do so again, and we encourage you to elect Anne Greenberg, Jessica Wani and Amanda Lim.

AZ Central School board candidate Q&A: Paradise Valley Unified School District

Read Jessica's responses to the AZ Central School Board Candidate Q&A!

Six candidates are competing in the November 2024 election for three four-year seats on the Paradise Valley Unified School District Governing Board: Edward (Eddy) Jackson, Amanda Lim, Nichole Klootwyk, Jessica Wani, Susan Winder and incumbent Anne Greenberg. Here are the Paradise Valley Unified School District Governing Board candidates' responses to The Arizona Republic's candidate questionnaire. Jackson and Winder did not respond. Responses have been edited for clarity.

Though school district governing board races are toward the bottom of the ballot, their outcomes have real consequences for the more than 880,000 children who attend public school districts across the state. The individuals voters select will help create policies, set budgets, choose curricula and educational materials and oversee superintendents. School board races are nonpartisan, and being a school board member is unpaid.
